Sanctuary Golf Course perpetually lives up to its name, a superb mountain oasis with heavenly views. (And a few devilish challenges, too.) Playing here is a special opportunity, but when you know your participation contributes to Children’s Hospital Colorado…that’s what makes Children’s Classic at Sanctuary a must-attend occasion. With extra enticements such as a putting clinic, golf contests and prizes, great breakfast buffet and post-golf food and cocktails, it’s no surprise that this event sells out year after year.

On Monday, Aug. 5, more than 100 golfers made the trek south of Denver for the 23rd annual fundraiser. The day began with a buffet brunch and accompanying GOLFTEC putting clinic, and a chance to warm up on the driving range and putting green. A short program featured remarks by CHC Foundation President Jen Darling and Peter Mourani, M.D., medical director of CHC Research Institute. Children’s 2019 ambassador Kaden Ford told the crowd about his own medical struggles and CHC successes–and he stole the show when he casually mentioned his 2.5 golf handicap. (Nongolfers: That means he’s really, really good.) After the program, players loaded up with cold beverages for the front nine and headed out to enjoy a fun-filled day that ended with a cocktail reception, awards and even more great food.

A golfer’s delight…#10 at Sanctuary.
