The Art Hotel was the venue for Warren Village’s “Come Out and Play” Gala held on Friday, October 16.
The event was a great success, featuring a cocktail reception, seated dinner and live auction. KBCO morning radio host Bret Saunders served as host and auction participant, then made introductions, followed by an exclusive performance of “Sibling Revelry” by the dynamic sister duo Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway.
Board Chair Guy Cornelius and Executive Director Sharon Knight described the work of the non-profit, with help from Maggie Rittenhouse, director of the Greta Horowitz Learning Center. Fall gala event committee Chair Tammy Abramovitz oversaw a quiet and cordial event at a newer downtown venue that boasts a split indoor/outdoor setting for spring or fall weather and an outdoor bar called Fire featuring a luxurious fire pit for patrons.
Top sponsors included Altria Group Distribution Company with Dazzling Sponsors: Stephen P. Emma/Bessemer Trust; Thomas and Heather McClary; Mercury Gives; Pari Motiwala-O’Donnell & Tim O’Donnell.
Auctioneer Sean Allen burst onto the scene teasing Saunders and the audience with various live auction items ranging from trips to New York City and Spain to tickets to the Nutcracker Mayor’s Box Seats and a Denver luxury staycation. The VIP after-party followed with Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway, with piano acompaniment from Alex Rybeck. The Tony-nominated sisters have each enjoyed their own outstanding careers, but are a special treat when they blend their voices.
