The 11th annual Morgan Adams Concours D’Elegance took place at the Centennial Airport on Saturday, August 24th. The Concours includes a gorgeous display of aircraft, automobiles and motorcycles, partnered with a silent and live auction, great food and great music. This year’s theme was ‘Fueling the Future.’
The highlight of the event each year is the flight demonstration, a truly unique aerial display put on this year by internationally renowned aerobatic pilot Kirby Chambliss, national airshow favorite Gary Rower of Rower Airshows, and Centennial’s own German National Aerobatic Flying Team member, Dagmar Kress. This year, the organizers had to contend with Mother Nature’s plans for the evening, which included a spectacular lightning display and the threat of rain. Fortunately, the flight demonstrations went ahead as planned and concluded just before the rain began to fall.
Guests enjoyed browsing the silent auction items and dining on fabulous creations by a number of local restaurants and eateries. Hosts Gary Shapiro of 9News, Amelia Earhart of 9News, and actor Scott Elrod (of television shows CSI:NY, Men in Trees, and NCSI: Los Angeles and movies Argo and Home Run) introduced the evening’s events. Auctioneer Don Martin conducted the live auction, followed by an awards ceremony for the best automobile, aircraft and motorcycle as well as Best in Show.
Volunteers checked guests into the Concours D’Elegance. Posters of children affected by the Morgan Adams Foundation reminded guests of the purpose of the event.
