Friends from all around the Denver philanthropic community filled the front deck of the Chinook Tavern this week to celebrate the career of the Denver Post’s society icon, Joanne Davidson.

Joanne has been society editor of The Denver Post since November, 1985. Prior to that, she was San Francisco bureau chief for U.S. News & World Report magazine, heading a two-person bureau that covered stories in 10 Western states.

She has a bachelor of arts degree in journalism, has won several local and state awards for news reporting, and resides in Denver with her husband and their three dogs. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Denver and an honorary member of the Denver Dumb Friends League board.  Registrations from the event were provided as a donation to Pet Aid Colorado, and over $3500 was raised. Joanne is a part of a new venture launching in mid-October called Seen on Scene where she can continue to write about events.

Good luck Joanne.
