The Anheuser-Busch Biergarten served as the summer setting for the 3rd Annual Hammer ‘n’ Ale event, Thursday, July 9th benefiting Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity. Presenting Sponsor Anheuser-Busch hosted more than 350 guests at Habitat’s signature annual summer fundraiser featuring fine beer samples, live music by the Hazmat Band, local restaurant vendors, games and a wide variety of activities for the entire family.
Habitat Executive Director Kristin Candella welcomed the crowd to the event and updated them on Habitat’s fundraising goals and the latest soon-to-be homeowner family. The VIP Tent Party, sponsored by Woodward aerospace and energy company, started at 5 p.m. at the newly renovated Biergarten at Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins headquarters. Some of the city’s most popular restaurants and chefs shared their finest hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Guests also enjoyed meeting and taking photos with two of the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales: “Manson” and “Lester”
Executive Chef Jeff Blackwell of Moot House oversaw the food and beer pairings with Anheuser-Busch Senior Brewmaster Katie Rippell. Even non-beer lovers would have a hard time not enjoying some of the exotic India Pale Ale flavors shared by Rippell and her team.
Organizers raised a symbolic wooden frame structure and hammered joints together in honor of the future house to be built for Jessica Toomey‘s family. Support for the new Toomey home was provided by the City of Fort Collins Community Development Block Grant and HOME funding. with sponsorships from Anheuser-Busch and Mortenson Construction.
