If ever there was living proof that beauty comes from within, it’s the SuperHeroes of the Courageous Faces Foundation (CFF).
In its inaugural Denver event (there was one in Boston last year), the Foundation presented a particularly memorable, high energy event at the Marriott City Center Saturday night.
The CFF helps those who are afflicted with conditions that affect their physical appearance, due to traumatic injury, genetics or a medical condition. The SuperHero Faces of the Foundation brought a rainbow of light and energy and were truly inspirational. Rarely do you see an event that is so unique and motivational.
Force of Nature Trish Morris, president and CEO of the CFF, was on stage thanking guests and participants, bringing up board members and acknowledging special supporters. Emcee Chris Starkey expertly navigated the program and auctioneer Rick Rolph brought in big bucks for the cause.
Robert Barron was given the World Humanitarian Award for his work with custom prosthetics. He gained experience as a renowned disguise artist for the CIA, and now he fulfilling his life’s dream of helping those like the Faces of the CFF.
Johnny Quinn was presented with the Courageous Spirit Award because of his passion and drive to help others feel good about themselves. Johnny was dragged from a burning building when he was 4 years old, resulting in burns over 95% of his body. But Johnny, like the other SuperHeroes, refuses to let his condition define him, and he leads by example with his amazing attitude and love of life.
The memorable evening went over the top with the performance by World Class Rockers–members of the bands Boston, Journey, Steppenwolf, Lynyrd Skynard and Santana. Guests were able to dance the night away and for this evening, there was not a care in the world.
