Colorado’s Make-A-Wish® Foundation, along with more than 30 local sports celebrities, teamed up to raise money for wishes at the Sporting Affair Celebrity Waiter Dinner on Thursday, February 26, 2015.

Emcee Don Yaeger, award-winning keynote speaker, business leadership coach and eight-time New York Times best-selling author, led an all-star lineup which included Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller, Sports Radio 104.3 co-hosts Scott Hastings and Nate Lundy, and Denver Broncos Director of Player Relations and Alumni Coordinator Billy Thompson–all serving up smiles, laughter and entertainment.

The evening’s game plan began with a VIP reception, where team members had the chance to meet with families, friends and guests, followed by a silent auction with some unique items including a visit to the set of Modern Family, a framed Stars Wars poster signed by members of the cast, and a Burton snowboard signed by Shaun White!

“The Sporting Affair Celebrity Waiter Dinner invites local celebrities and fans to unite for the same cause of helping grant wishes to kids,” said Joan Mazak, President and CEO. The goal is to raise funds to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Colorado. Make-A-Wish Colorado grants an average of 250 wishes annually.

Founded in 1983 as one of the nation’s first Make-A-Wish Foundation chapters, Make-A-Wish Colorado had granted more than 4,400 wishes to eligible children throughout Colorado. Its mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation finances its endeavors through corporate sponsors, foundations, Service clubs, fundraisers and individual contributions. To learn more, visit colorado.wish.org.
